Ducks in the rain
Helena and I went this morning to Woodchester, a small local village in the Nailsworth valley, to a retirement village. It was set in the valley of a small tributary of the Nailsworth stream, called the Inchbrook.
As we were leaving and despite the rain I was drawn to the pond next to the stream where the ducks congregate. I’d heard earlier from one of the residents who lived next to the pond that since they have been feeding the birds the numbers have grown from four to many many more.
As soon as I got close to the pond’s edge, the female ducks left the water and waddled towards me, obviously expecting a good meal. Sadly for them all I had was my little camera. I was pleased though that they let me get so close.
