DAY 4 BONN & COLOGNE

After breakfast we joined a tour of Bonn . The children went off and did their own thing.
The tour was interesting and you do get to spot small details. However when we got to ......
#Mozart’s birthplace we chose to leave the tour and visit the house. It was very interesting with lots of instruments and artefacts from his life.
#Mozart Monument in one of the
Christmas markets where we had a hot chocolate and bought some more tourist souvenirs!!
We headed back to the boat for lunch...not that we really needed it!
The children had decided to get the 1:30 coach down to Cologne. Originally we were going to do the same but glad we changed our mind and stayed on board enjoying the boat a bit longer even though we arrived nearly 2 hours later.
#we both braved the dip pool but only after The Rev has tested it first!!! It was ok but we were quite a sight running back to our cabin in our bathrobes dripping wet, laughing and demanding “I’m first in the hot shower!!”
#It was lovely to sit and chill and watch the world pass by...I think I could have honestly done it for hours reading and eating cake!!!
We arrived at 4 o’clock and were the first off the boat for a 30 min walk into Cologne.
We met J& K at the Cathedral where we had a quick tour inside. Amazing building with great history.
M&O joined us and we had a coffee...in a very pricey cafe opposite the cathedral... tourist error!!!!!!
Then it was time to walk around the several Christmas markets which, now it was dark, were lit with thousands of lights. The sights were stunning but I’ll have to cheat blip to show later!?!?!
Originally we thought we’d pop back for dinner and then come out again but as the boat was moored 30 mins walk away we didn’t fancy doing that 3x so stayed out later and then had a late dinner before packing :(((
Can’t believe it’s over!!!!!!
