Country park

About half an hour after this was taken, he'd fallen off something and had blood pouring from  his nose, and many, many tears.  Poor love, he's felt pretty sorry for himself for the rest of the day, as you would if you fell on your face.  He did insist on mummy cuddles and said some very sweet things.  He also perked up a treat with some hot chocolate which we'd taken to the park in a thermos.   Clearly, chocolate has medicinal purposes.

After the park, we went swimming, deciding against the (free) school pool which is always pretty chilly and quite austere, instead we opted to go to a nearby town to check the pool out there.  We should have done that a long time ago, it's great! Was happier paying for a lovely swim, especially given the boys can't really swim yet, than freezing in the school pool.

Made our Christmas cake this morning (I had planned to make it about 6 weeks ago).  The eldest was delighted to help, as he loves baking, the youngest was delighted to help clean the bowl out at the end. I might have to make a second cake though, we went out whilst it was in the oven to the park, and the bleeding nose incident meant we were later back than planning, so the cake is a little over-cooked.  Oppps.
