Winter view of Pendle

Yes, over the border into Lancashire. One of my/our occasional forays into Lancashire to Boundary Mill.

The morning started out dull and there was a light but steady fall of snow. As we set off over the moors the clouds started to lift and you can see here the sun picking out the Pendle fells in the distance. They are much more obvious when covered in snow though always a presence, and loom over the outlet store.

The idea was to get some outdoor wear for Chris for our trip. He always leaves these things to the last minute and out of the thousands of branded items in the store he found nothing to his liking. I, on the other hand, didn't really need anything and came away with two tops, a pair of trousers and a fleece (plus some Villeroy and Bosch napkins which I always buy as they match my china!)

I was surprised to discover that it isn't particularly hot in Hong Kong at the moment so a couple of extra long sleeved cotton tops and a lightweight fleece will come in handy.

On the way back the sun was making the snow sparkle - see Ponden Resevoir here - it is a lovely route at all times of year (except when foggy) despite the fact that it is leading to Lancashire!
