John Muir Iceway

My blip today is not that inspiring pictorially though my interest was initially raised by the sight of the fence posts being reflected in the ice as I had not observed this phenomenum before. Perhaps the reflection is actually caused by a film of surface water, I'm not sure and I didn't test the ice to find out.

However, this is the current state of a long distance pathway named after John Muir who was a conservationist from East Lothian. He made his impact in the USA, where he was largely responsible for the start of the national park movement which has successfully conserved large tracts of American landscape. The pathway runs along the East Lothian coastline for many miles. This specific stretch of pathway lies behind the dunes at Barns Ness. There is about a mile or so of pathway under water and iced over today so ramblers beware you might need your ice skates.
