Portobello Beach Edinburgh Day 140

A searing cold morning. All sound seemed frozen save the disproportionately loud surge of the surf washing the sands. All the more surprising given the flat calm water beyond the breakers.

A procession of planes floated into Edinburgh from Heathrow, Paris and Amsterdam. A professional blipper with tripod and megabucks camera was also witnessing this wonderful wintry dawn to a mid January day. The gulls, as always, get the best views.
