Busking

Her final musical event of the year was busking with the senior wind band in the supermarket. There’d been a mix up and the space they were expecting was not available. They began in the entrance but were then moved to the outer foyer. They were absolutely frozen! I had a bit of guilt as I was on kit supervising duties in the warm of the cafe, where they kept me stocked with unlimited coffee. Some lovely friends from church came to hear her play and join me for a drink. John has been in hospital and hasn’t seen much of the festive music so was delighted to see her play, as she was to have him and his wife there.

After they’d finished, I dropped her off at home and ran to the parcel office. The other musical activity of the day was a fabulous time recording bassoon duets using the acapella app with a “big girl” bassoon friend. Through the wonders of modern technology, we were able to pass parts back and forth across the Internet, record parts and come together for 5 fabulous duets! They were awesome, Katie did brilliantly!

The rest of the day spent introducing Katie to Home Alone 1 and 2. A new something she enjoyed!
