Star Daughter

A modest 3 glasses of white wine with a wonderful meal at my step niece’s yesterday evening meant a very wakeful night. It was quite a relief when dawn came and I could get up.
It was not only the wine , but the news that my stepdaughter got engaged yesterday added to the wine effect. It was all too exciting.

When it was time to organise the meal, today I had to pull myself together after a glass or three of Prosecco. There was nothing missed, although the gravy almost made a late entrance.

I am writing this as we have an obligatory culinary rest after the turkey but before David and Luca’s cheese cake. It might be a prolonged rest.
