Apples and Oranges

Still snowing

And the snow ploughs are still working with removing it and sprinkling sand on the sidewalks.
Today I've been searching for articles on a special subject. Something called Traditional Indigenous Knowledge or Traditional Environmental Knowledge. It's interesting and I'm searching it for my paper. But, I got a bit put down when I on one search saw that I was on page 2 out of 1900 something... The next search was a bit less pages, just around 200 to look through. I found several interesting articles and will read some of them tomorrow. It's nice to be on track again with the long over due paper. :)

Sweet cravings today to and I thought about going to a store that have a favorite treat of mine, but I also had to do some shopping in another store and the thought of bringing stuff bought in another store to that store - even with receipt - slightly put me down. So, I thought I'd go and by the treats tomorrow instead, with the hopes that the cravings are all gone then... :D Now I don't think about it anymore. :)
When I walked to the store I was stopped by a woman that asked me for the way to a street in my area. I should know this! I've lived here for about 7 years now and still hasn't the streets sorted out! Hopefully I directed her to the right house...

This morning a memory from several years ago came to me. I was, for a long time, working as a switchboard operator at a hospital in the town I lived in then and had been talking to a very rude man for about 15-20 minutes. He was scolding me for not being able to reach one of the clinics on their daily time for patients calls (don't know what it's called in English, but during that time you can ask questions and get a doctors appointment...). And, that was my fault, he thought. I patiently explained to him that I had nothing to do with that because it was the different clinics that decided when and for how long they could take calls from patients. He kept scolding me and I kept being nice... fuming inside! After the call ended I closed my switchboard for incoming calls, stood up, got to one of the windows, opened it, leaned myself out a bit and screamed "Fucking old bastard" as loud as I could. Then I closed the window, went to my desk, sat down, opened my switchboard to incoming calls and answered the next call with a pleasant voice. My colleges were NOT used to this behavior from me, just gaped and some of them laughed, knowing exactly what made me do that. :)
