Early morning departure

Gavin and my brother managed to pack the car and get on the road by 3.15am. The rest of us got the 8.31am train to Zurich. Before I left I took this photo of the early morning sky - the sun rises at about 8.06am and I took this photo about 20 minutes before that. We cannot see the sunrise due to the mountains being too high and the sun rising behind them at this viewpoint, but the pink sunrise was reflected across the other side of the sky.

Poor Adam woke up in agony with his back so he had  a very painful journey today. At one point he was lying on the floor of the train trying to ease his back - of course being a Swiss train it was pristine and carpeted so not quite the same as lying on a filthy train floor.

I have added an extra of a photo taken through the train window - the snow has melted in this valley but the lower trees on the mountain side are quite frozen and covered in ice, it was an unusual sight to see.

We had an uneventful journey home, and I could not believe it when the Gavin arrived home before we did - they had a very easy journey including 4 stops for Xena.

We are very lucky in that Xena travels very well. She is quiet relaxed in the car and eats her food as usual. She is quite a character and has totally charmed my brother. He loves the way when she goes outside for a wee she comes bounding in again, at full pace and rushes up to you, barely stopping in time to avoid crashing into you and makes such a fuss of seeing you again as if she has been gone for days instead of only a few minutes. She is very affectionate and exuberant.

When we got home at 4pm I quickly unpacked, went to the supermarket and bought some groceries and have loaded this up but must now go make supper. Adam is leaving tonight to go back to Cambridge as he has an appointment with a doctor there tomorrow morning about his back, and hopefully to get a referral to an ortho consultant. 

I was delighted to see that my anniversary blip is currently sitting at the top position of the popular age, thank you for that.
