Oh No It Isn’t

Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,

Today was the annual trip to the pantomime with Mary Doll, the niece and nephew.

The panto was Goldilocks and the Three Bears which was set in a circus. Obviously!

We always love the panto. It’s the same main cast every year and it was great to see Andy Gray back as he missed last year due to illness. The whole place cheered at “Ah’ve no been very weel.”

The show had gone the extra mile this year- as prt of the circus theme, it included The Great Juggling Alfio and The Berserk Riders doing amazing motorbike stunts in what looks like a giant hamster ball. For me, pants doesn’t need that. I love the traditional naffness of it: the gags, gaffes and tongue-twisting wordplay. It’s great without the spectacular, “Oh yes it is.”
