Holiday Day 2

Up at 3am to get bus to terminal for 6.05am departure.
Arrived Kuusamo about noon Finnish time. This was late as the first landing attempt was aborted due to high winds in a snow squall - rather scary sitting by the emergency exit and wondering if we'd have to use it as the plane was bouncing aroung so much. The second attempt was still rough but successful. The pic is the baggage reclaim.
Bus to Base Camp in Oulanka National Park, lunch, briefing and warm clothing collection before minibus to our base for the week a few miles away (a lot more by road than in a straight line).
Settling in, dinner and and early night
