Happy birthday Mike :)

Mike’s 60th birthday today. We had a lazy morning, he opened his cards and presents. Yvonne , our neighbour, made him a cake and came round for elevenses with Rachel.
Then we were off to IV10 for lunch.I was given a voucher by one of the Brownie parents for Christmas so today was an ideal day to use it. We both had fish and chips with mushy peas, really tasty.
A lovely sunny day so we went to the point for a quick walk. It was cold ! The tide was a long way in and only a slither of sand left to walk on.
A drive down to Udale Bay and to see if the car wash was open, it was not so Mike washed the car when he got back from dropping me off at Brownies.
A fun session celebrating Australia Day and thinking about the people and animals that have been effected by the fires. We made Koala finger puppets, ran round the hall 13 times in support of Leona, a Guider who is running a half marathon soon to raise more money for the Australia fund.We talked about the fluffy ‘animals’ they had brought in , including kangaroos and Koalas. One of the girls dressed up in a kangaroo costume which her Dad had worn to a Rugby party and had spilt his beer on the Joeys head which they found very amusing ;)
We made posters and letters that we’ll send to the Australian Girl Guides. We finished with a picnic , some girls bringing a banquet ;)
We had a collection too and raised £125.50 so delighted with that .
