Light at the end of the tunnel
I never slept....... I worried all night, about what to do, about the car.
I googled car noises.
Among the options, that fitted the noise, was that a bearing had gone on the wheel.
Peter, from Mom's church, suggested I go to Supa Quick in Edenvale.
So, that was where I headed, first thing........
Shane, a middle age man, puffing continuously on his e-cigarette, took a look at the car and told me, the bearing was fine, but I needed new tyres. I agreed, they were probably past their best, but I was pretty sure, that was NOT, the problem.
He then drove the car round the block and after taking another look, diagnosed, that the bolt holding the alternator was GONE.
This explained the ping plop noise that preceded the serious thudding.
He disappeared for a while. This was when I took the blip. I've driven past this "display" many a time, and found it, intriguing, but I have never had a chance to blip it. It's the entrance to a shebeen, in the ally way, next to the Edenvale Supaquick.
He returned, with a bolt. He put it on and........... THE NOISE was gone.
I asked him how much it would cost and he said....... NOTHING.
I felt like hugging him, but resisted.
Instead, I got in the car and drove to the Town Council, to pay my bill, then drove home and worked, until STEP.
Yah ! The gym is more-or-less back to the normal schedule, so STEP happened. Eish ! It was hard going.
PS. I have included an extra of the scene that played out, outside my house this morning. I took the picture through the window. I seems, someone else was having car troubles. SERIOUS car troubles. Of course, this did nothing, to put my mind at ease.
