I've had a lovely day (apart from the food shop).
I had an appointment at the beauty parlour!
I had never done this in my life before last year when my daughter bought me a gift voucher for Sitting Pretty in Skipton. I enjoyed it so much that she bought me another for Christmas. An hour and 15 minutes of pure bliss. Lovely facial treatments, hot cloths, fragrant oils and cooling gels, face and shoulder massage, soothing music all in a beautiful calm environment.
After a herbal tea I left there and went to buy some bird feeders and nuts and seeds before Frank came for me and we went food shopping. To make up for having to go to the supermarket we bought these lovely tulips.
When we got back to the boat I put the bird feeders on the roof. I had nothing to hang them on so one is wedged between the skylight frames and the other is weighed down with small rocks.
We were warned by our boat neighbours not to put bird feeders around the mooring garden as they would attract rats. That's why they're on the roof.
What is the saying? You're never more than 6 feet away from a rat? Well, being on the canal I reckon we're usually closer than that and to be honest - unless they invite themselves in - I'm not bothered.
Live and let live I say!
