A place in time

It's been a funny sort of day today.

It started out bitterly cold, but wonderfully bright...and Mr A Jnr sent through photos first thing showing us how there was ice on his cycling gloves after they froze over in the cold on his cycle ride to work!   Thankfully, he was toasty on the inside.

Mind you, by 11.30am it seemed much better and Molly reclaimed her bench arm - see extra.  The poor soul had been denied her favourite spot ever since November when Ted's Shed was demolished and stacked onto the bench under the veranda.

So, all my best intentions of walking into town went by the wayside, knowing that I had to spend some time sorting out Mum's insurance for the fire.  After lunch I made a call to her insurers, then spent a couple of hours gathering all the information they needed, splitting out all the charges on a spreadsheet.  It was a good job, jobbed.

Anyway, while the dinner is cooking tonight I'm sampling a glass of 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon - one of Mr A Snr's stash.  It would be rude not to, eh?

Thought for the day:

"Maybe the journey isn't so much about becoming anything.  Maybe it's about unbecoming everything that isn't really you, so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place."  (summersaldana.com)
