Jiraff
Here's a tip for you: if you ever need to drive from the north-west of England to Merthyr Tydfil, you can go down the M6 and the M5 - BORING - and then the M50 and a couple of A roads or you can go down the A483, which takes TWO MINUTES longer but is an absolutely beautiful drive.
Not that we saw all of it, this evening, as we only had an hour or so of sunlight and then dusk. Even so, it was a lot more enjoyable than motorway driving.
The Minx had found us a place to stay in a small village called Pontsticill and the last part of the journey was down a very narrow lane onto a farm. The accommodation was lovely including a wood stove, which we promptly lit before enjoying a glass or two of wine. This fellow in the picture lives on the window sill. Obviously I had to Google the Welsh for giraffe and I was delighted to find three options: jiraff, jiráff, and jiraffod.
