A Lull in the Storm

High winds and torrential rain overnight and in to this morning. Flooded roads and landscapes deterred us from going far. We awaited a lull in the weather before venturing out.

Neither of us had visited Cockermouth before so enjoyed a dry wander round a very quiet town today. Some of the businesses were putting up flood defences but apart from warnings of high river levels there was no severe flood warning. Hopefully the flood defences will do the necessary.

Just as we got back to the car the heavens opened again! Home to Yorkshire tomorrow
