A place in time

Gift

I went over to visit Mum today, as she was due a visit from the daughter of a friend of hers who sadly passed away in December.  Mum was invited to the funeral, but was unwell at the time, so the daughter came to Mum with a copy of the order of service, a small gift to remember her father (for everyone invited) of a pack of forget-me-not seeds to plant in D's memory...plus this lovely bunch of tulips for Mum.

Neither of us had met K before, but she was quite lovely and we all got on so well that we chatted for well over two hours.  Mum had met K's father when they were introduced in January 2011 after both were recently bereaved.  It was a lovely friendship, since D could drive Mum to the monthly lunches (for the recently bereaved) and Mum would make D a cake in payment.

Thought for the day:

"A stranger is simply a friend you haven't met yet."  (one of my Mum's favourite quotes and a version of the original by William Butler Yeats)
