Wet
It’s wet, everywhere.
We had a real low moment This morning as the traffic was terrible outside the new house - meaning the future morning school run was looking very bad.... it was only later that we realised that roads have been closed due to the flooding. I start work on Wednesday and really hope the roads are back open as I don’t really care to negotiate huge diversions to get children to their new holiday club and then on to my first day at work!
The youngest had a morning at his new nursery today. The husband took him, left him in tears and came home very glum. By the time I collected the youngest he had perked up no end and by dinner time was telling us all about his morning. I think things are going to be ok.
This afternoon we went to get a few things from storage. The removal men were great, but did get a few things in the wrong places... after negotiating closed roads (nowhere seems to be on-Trent, it all seems to be in-Trent) we got there, to find the storage place also flooded! We got through the huge lake to ours (which is high off the ground, so nothing to worry about). Having never lived somewhere prone to flooding, it’s quite an eye-opener!
