Martha Cottage
This is the cottage on our farm, that we rent out for holiday accommodation. The cottage (which contains two bedrooms) is usually open from November to March/April, and is completely self contained - just like a motel. We have guests from all over the world staying - most of whom enjoy a visit (or two) to the cow shed to watch the cows being milked. I enjoy having the cottage open - you certainly meet some very nice people.
We have painters from Nelson here at the moment, giving the wee cottage a bit of a make over. I'd hate to be one of them today, it is 3.05pm and currently 30.3 degrees C - I think they are feeling the heat just a tad!
Just a bit of history behind the cottage. Part of this building was part of the original house on the farm. It was altered in the 1970's to incorporate an inside toilet and laundry. Martha was Farmerboy's Grandmother, and she lived in the Cottage until she died - hence the name - Martha Cottage.
