Avoiding showers
Today we walked round to Body Street and I signed up. It won’t do me any harm, and it might even do me a lot of good. JR and Archie came too, because the main objective was a coffee at Salt, which we reached just as it started to rain. Very friendly staff in there, and in fact, JR and a group of gym goers, have booked out their back room for a birthday brunch for one of the members tomorrow.
We walked on round to Bruntsfield, and - oh dear - it's starting to rain again - let's pop in to Montpelier's. After a confusing chat with the waiter about the relative sizes of schooners, pints and half pints, we had a pleasant glass of beer. And some string fries. The waiter made a big fuss of Archie. We put his harness on, so it's a it harder for him to refuse to come into cafes.
And who should stroll by but Rufus and his mum, having been for lunch at a nearby hostelry. She popped in for a brief chat, as she was with a friend and they'd just had lunch.
We managed home again between showers. (7,556 steps)
JR then got into her gym gear and went off to an evening Pilates class run by one of her favourite tutors at the gym. She's a fanatic!
