Diary of an Edinburgher

Space!

Our builders made up for yesterday by going for it, hammer and tongs! They worked non stop all day (a few fag breaks) and got the (old shower) walls out, so we can now see the space! Exciting. Though I must admit, we had both imagined it to be much bigger!

The front garden is piled high with bags of rubble, and I scored lots of 4x2s to chop up with my reciprocating saw for firewood. Bonus. Another bonus was that the floorboards were still there underneath the shower tray.

But the fun didn’t stop there. Pretzel (see Extra) came to stay with us for the day - always fun to have her. We went up the hill and the dogs had a few races - Pretzel won every time, nae bother. Not that Archie cares. JR and the dogs walked home and she got lots of smiles with the two schnauzers, who walked along really nicely.

Our carpenter popped in as soon as he heard that the walls were down (he was in the neighbourhood) and the new cabinet was discussed. Exciting!

Ceiling lowered tomorrow, I think. This is fun! Just a pity about the dust...
