A quiet day

After the energy and excitement of the big parade last night, Funchal was very quiet. 

I posted some extras of the Carnival in yesterday’s blip. 

I gently strolled down through the Santa Caterina Gardens, stopping for a pastel de nata of course. The stalls for Carnaval are interesting, with the delicacies, local chocolates, and wines. 

It’s been hot and sultry today, so I had a quiet snack in the Old Town before coming back to have a drink with friends who are leaving tomorrow. 

I’m hoping to do a levada walk tomorrow morning, so a less energetic day is not a bad idea.
