2020 Sunday — Pulling Away

This was captured early early this morning after we had just driven through the community of Morro Bay on California’s Hwy. 1 and made the sweeping wide curve away from the coast and headed inland toward San Luis Obispo. The journey is approximately 4 hours from front door to front door and roughly 265 miles.

We’re headed to SoCal because we both have doctor appointments and I have a retirement meeting at the college.

Once we arrived home, unpacked the car, fed the pups some lunch (they didn’t get breakfast today, so lunch it is), and an afternoon snooze for Mr.Fun, then we headed to the Kaiser Medical facility in Riverside for Mr. Fun to go to the lab for a blood test. He had a PSA blood test several weeks ago and the Urologist phoned to express concern that the PSA was elevated, so the doctor said to repeat the blood test in several weeks, so that’s what we are doing. This week Mr.Fun also will have a routine colonoscopy since it has been over 10 years since the last one.

So now we wait for the PSA result. Mr. Fun has an appointment with the Urologist next week. We’re thinking that if the PSA is still high or higher than it was that possibly the doctor would phone and ask us to come in sooner.

This week I have a hearing test in the audiology dept. Because I retire in June and my "employer-paid-for-medical-insurance" ends, we are both having as many tests and check-ups as possible now.

So the transition has been made, we are in Southern California.
