Coal Merchant

The weather was ghastly and BB was playing football in Edinburgh.  I kept checking my phone in the hope it would be called off – but no luck.  The drive into Edinburgh wasn’t much fun and once at the pitches, I sat in the car for a while until the sleet/rain had eased off.  I risked a wee walk and while it was damp – it wasn’t too bad.  When I got back to the pitches, I couldn’t find them and spent ages wandering around from are to area.  Eventually I thought I spied them away in the distance.  As I made my way in that direction, through a flooded path, I met a dad, who told me I was too late, and it was all over.  At least they won.  No goal for BB this week, though he said he should have got one.  He was mentioned in the match report though, and was pleased about that.

After lunch, it brightened up considerably.  TT ad I went out for a river walk, leaving BB to do his homework.  Walking home, into the gale force wind, completely tired both of us out.  We were both exhausted when we got back home.  At least my very well pegged-on washing was dry.

P was on tea tonight and I binge watched a series on catch up.  Meanwhile poor BB has been agonising about his subject choices.  He has a meeting with his guidance teacher tomorrow and really can’t make up his mind, as he likes everything!  What a position to be in.

Here’s an Edinburgh ghost sign which I passed by this morning.  The extra shows the blue sky of the afternoon and the very full river.
