Diary of an Edinburgher

Good idea!

I watched the cricket this morning, or the Indian innings anyway. But it wasn’t the exciting close match that some of the others had been, because all the top order were out for small totals. But there were great catches and superb bowling. And definitely a win for womens' sport, with a capacity crowd of 89,000 at the MCG.

JR had her long Sunday morning circuits session, and when Annemique came to get Archie at 10.30, I went to the gym for my usual (more relaxed) session. A chap who's been going there for years - we nod at each other - mentioned to me today that it's important to keep fit to combat Coronavirus (at our age, he inferred). Now this man never, ever wipes the equipment after him (a pet hate of mine). He flits from machine to machine, hardly spending 5 minutes on any one. He appeared later on the machine next to my low bike. I plucked up courage nerve to tell him that actually, the best way to combat Coronavirus is to wipe down the equipment before and after use. 'Yes!' he said. ‘Oh! I will!' - like it was a really good idea he hadn’t heard of (there are signs around) and he proceeded to wipe down the entire machine he was on.

The pool has never been cleaner. Somebody (presumably a toddler) did a whoopsie in it, and so it's been closed and had a deep clean. It looked SO inviting, I really wanted to just jump in fully clothed. (Extra)

Annemique and Jenna came back with Archie after a walk in the Hermitage. They stayed for a cuppa and a news catch up, but had left by the time the rugby started.

A win for Scotland!
