When Needs Must

Dear Diary,

Maine has its first confirmed case of coronavirus it was reported late yesterday.  I went to the pharmacy to pick up a few things and found, like most places, lots of supplies are sold out.  No problem.  I got what I needed to make my own hand sanitizer.  I usually use a natural formula sold by Burt's Bees but it isn't difficult to make.  A 92% solution of alcohol, Witch Hazel (my grandmother swore by it), aloe to counter the dryness of the alcohol and Rose Water to counter the smell of the alcohol (I get mine from the Shaker Village here in Maine).  Rose Water has antiseptic properties and also it is used in aroma therapy as a mood lifter.  We certainly could use that in these troubling times.
