All Dressed Up. No Place To Go.
Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,
We were all checked in for our flight to Bristol and sitting in the airport bar, when it was announced that the Wales vs Scotland game was cancelled. It’s would be an understatement to say that The Prince wasn’t happy and he was in like-minded company. The bar was full of kilt wearers all looking quite glum, some of whom were rebelling in their own way by drinking bottles of Corona!
But we went anyway. It was quite a lively plane. One of the first announcements was that there was no no beer or cider available from the trolley* and the person sitting behind us leaned in for a chat every now and then!
The Prince had booked a restaurant in Bristol which belongs to his old school friend, Ed. We had arranged to catch up with Ed earlier before going for our “romantic” dinner. Except we must have had great bants because Ed decided to walk us down to the restaurant, and then to stay for a quick beer, and (as he was still sitting with us when we finished eating) to come to the pub!
So it didn’t end up being a night for two but Ed was excellent company and we had a great night. He and The Prince were at boarding school together from the age of eight so there’s a lot of shared history and a few stories I hadn’t heard before - including a fight over an axe when they were den-building in primary school. Of course there were axes. It was the 70’s!

PS Today’s picture was taken tomorrow but I’m a time traveller so it’s fine!
