The Lion's Pride
It should have been Violet’s party today so I suggested taking the girls to Knowsley Safari Park as It’s the perfect place to visit while we’re ‘social distancing’.
Rachel and Scott needed some time to get things organised ready for next week when they have to work from home and also have to look after the girls due to school and nursery being closed. So after a late breakfast, Alan and I took Scarlett and Violet, and gave Rach and Scott the time they needed.
I’d already checked the safari park was open, and was surprised at how quiet it was. I did think it would be busier seeing as you can drive round in the comfort and safety of your own car and not have any contact with anyone else. The foot Safari was also open but we decided not to risk doing that, and instead we drove round the Safari drive twice!
The highlight of the day were the lions, and in particular because one of the females walked towards us and right along the side of our car, I’ve never seen one so close before!
Once we got home with the girls we packed up and got ready to head back to Brighton. I felt quite emotional leaving as there were no hugs or kisses and like many people, we don’t know when we’ll see our family again. Thank goodness for FaceTime!
Our journey home has been very easy as the roads were very quiet, and it’s now 11pm and we’re just home, I don’t think we’ll be long out of bed!
