(Not) Exercising
My first choice photo was a great snap of our two daughters working out to the Joe Wicks daily routine on YouTube. They’ve been joining around a million other kids each morning at nine o’clock to do 30 minutes of exercise in front of the television. It’s a great idea, and an example of how new media can adapt more quickly to rapidly changing times and needs. However, the girls wouldn’t let me post that photo.
My second choice would have been to capture this evening’s brilliant round of applause for the NHS and carers. We stood in the back garden which backs onto one of the roads going into Kendal. I stupidly thought we might be the only ones clapping, but of course there were others - whooping, clapping, whistling and even the odd car horn. But what was more surprising was how it moved me. I wasn’t prepared for that. But no photo, or video even would have done this moment justice.
So instead, here’s a photo of Erin taken after we’d lunched in the front garden. I think she was painting some of the flowers. But I love how she was completely engaged in her activity.
