Curry Club
The last Friday of the month is Curry Club, where a bunch of middle aged men drink beer, eat curry and talk rubbish. Tonight was no exception, though it was exceptional. Instead of congregating in one of Kendal’s excellent pubs and moving on to its only remaining curry house, we each cooked curries in our own houses and ate them with our families. But we shared photos, jokes, barbed comments and encouragement on our WhatsApp group, so it felt like a huge communal celebration of curry, friendship and family. A lovey experience.
