Speed record holders
Day 10
Sir Malcolm Campbell and his son Donald Campbell were both obsessed by speed. In boats and cars called Bluebird they pursued records on land and water for nearly 50 years. Donald was the first and only man to break both land (403 mph) and water (276 mph) records in 1964. He was killed in a crash on Coniston Water . The house where I found the plaque is on Kingston Hill and is now part of Canbury School.
