Foraging

I always enjoy having herbs in the garden and allotment but I am particularly grateful to have them just now.  This week we've collected thyme, sage, rosemary and mint to add to the stews and soups we've been making.

The day has been a simple but busy.  This morning while Andy walked Merlin, I did yoga and felt much more stretched and relaxed for it.  Then together we cleaned the house and did several loads of washing.  With the strong wind today it was a good day for drying Merlin's blankets outside in the garden.  Andy then managed a quick trip to a local farm shop and came back with bread and milk and some other goodies - fantastic!  It felt like he had come back with treasure!

In the late afternoon it was my turn to go out with Merlin.  We did a loop around the village and to the allotment to replenish our supply of spinach, chard and rhubarb (Andy made rhubarb crumble last night).  This evening we have been fortunate to be able to make our usual Saturday night curry (we even had aubergine to use in it!) and to relax watching the Sky Portrait Artist of the Year Competition.

Hoping your Saturday has gone smoothly. Wishing you all well.
