Paet Hill Season Starts

Less wind, but still breezy most of the day.  Flat calm tonight.  A chill in the breeze, but warm in the lea, and the sun has been shining all day and evening.  There was the odd shower this morning, and again tonight.

I spent the morning working in the living room, took the afternoon off, and working again tonight.  No more flatworms found, hopefully on top of it, but sure they will be there.  I've not managed to finish off Sammy's hairdo, but he's not meeting his girlfriends just now, so it can wait for another day.

The peat hill season has arrived, although I won't be casting peats for another month, there is other things to get ready first.  My task today was to sort out drainage ditches.  It was a new peat bank last year, and the water had built up over winter.  A few hours work this afternoon, and I cleared out a good run for the water to drain, and hopefully continue to dry over the next weeks.  I still have some peats in the hill from last year, so not needing to cut too much this year, keep it easy and enjoyable.  Taken on the Hill of Fitch, Tingwall.
