Big Pharma Plane
Evidently today is #LookUpAtTheSkyDay. That's nothing new for me. When we were watching the cows having their breakfast in the barn next door I heard a skylark singing high above us. It's the first time I've seen a skylark over our property. Kes was hovering too.
As we were on the way back from bug hunting, where I looked up and captured a drone fly against the sublime, lime, young oak leaves, (extras) this huge plane flew over.
It's a three-year-old Boeing 747-83QF owned by Air Bridge Cargo which specialises in transporting temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals and life-saving medical equipment. It was on its way to Stansted from Krasnoyarsk in Russia. On 12th April there were reports that medicines needed to treat the sickest Covid-19 patients were in short supply. Maybe there was propofol anaesthetic, alfentanil opioid painkiller and noradrenaline for low blood pressure on board? All of these were likely to run out out in days and less effective alternatives are being used. Maybe reagents needed for testing, which are also in short supply globally, were part of the cargo?
