Diary of an Edinburgher

Bored? No... (Day 33)

Today I made banana pancakes. Very simple: (thanks, Nicky) banana, 2 eggs, pinch of baking powder. They looked rather unkempt because I couldn’t flip them very well, but they tasted OK.

I think it’s better if I try to go out with Archie in the afternoons, rather than as well as a quick scamper round (Archie, not me) first thing in the morning. Fills in the day a bit better, though I’m actually quite happy (some would say, TOO happy) sitting around doing nothing much all day. I have a very low boredom threshold.

And so this afternoon we both set off with Archie. I had my coat on! We met up with Rufus and his mum for a blether at their gate. And I met up with Hazel on the way home for another blether at another gate.

Archie obligingly jumped up on this old gnarled tree stump in the Links, though I used this shot. The stump looks like a fantastical home for all sorts of wee beasties. In fact, it reminded me of the art work in this terrific game - Samorost. (Extra).

I then decided to come home via the shop, while the others continued to the Meadows for a longer walk, JR being much more obsessed with the daily step count than I am. I had intended to pop in to get some bread at the corner shop, but there was an orderly queue outside, so I didn’t bother. Don’t need it. And I certainly don’t need chocolate either.

I listened to my ‘Book at Bedtime’ when I came home - American Dirt.
