Veil Of Indecision

Trying to make more use of my 100-400mm lens and look for compositions that isolate my subject. I know I can just walk closer with a shorter lens and get the same shot, but somehow it's easier at a distance. As well as the field of view and compression differences.

Alas, today I didn't make use of either feature today, as I ended up at only 119mm! Added to which I couldn't decide whether the trunk or the dangly bits of the willow should dominate, so it's a 50/50 shot.

In my defence, it was windy and very bright, causing issues with movement, focus and exposure.

But I do like the veil of yellow catching the light against a dark background.
