During my cycle ride this morning l came across three miserable cyclists who did not return my cheery good morning. The one's who ignore my greeting are usually dressed from head to toe in lycra. I met another miserable man driving a short wheel based Toyota Jeep who shouted through his window "do you know where the school is? "I stopped saying don't bother saying please. He then said "please" and I said "oh forget it" and pedalled off to him shouting some obscenities with me thinking miserable git. A bit further on someone had roped off part of the grass verge with a sign asking for it not to be mown as the area is going to be used for plant sampling. I don't know who does this sort of thing.
I finished undercoating the rest of the Bentley and during an extended coffee break I made a few phone calls to try and find someone to match and mix five litres of topcoat. To my surprise the three places I tried were all open but on skeleton staff so they could not match and mix unless l had the paint code. Fortunately the last place I tried in Brighton although a little expensive could do the job. So I decided to go for it as a can then get the job finished. I will post them a colour sample on Monday as during her walk Ros has found the Mobile Post Office that comes twice a week.
I then spent part of the afternoon making and spraying a sample colour swatch. As I had to cut up a large piece of metal sheet I decided to cut it into three so I will have a couple of spare swatches for the future. Last time I had to take the door off and leave it with the paint shop to get a match.
Finally in the afternoon I sprayed the headlight brackets with etching primer. Tomorrow I must get on with the headlights before flatting back the undercoat.
