Day 58 - Cool delights
I found lots of vintage knitting and crochet patterns in my FIL's house - all wonderful, but this Chivers jellies recipe booklet was the most fascinating find.
This gem of a recipe is included -
Creamed Fish Ring
1 Chivers lemon jelly * 1/4 pint vinegar * 12oz tin tuna * 1/2 post white sauce * nutmeg * 1/2 clove garlic
Make up the jelly with 1/4 pint of water and add the vinegar. Mash the tuna with the sauce, season well and add nutmeg and garlic. Pound the mixture with a wooden spoon. Add the cool jelly and pour into a ring mould to set. Serve with cress and tomato juice.
