Diary of an Edinburgher

First of all, many thanks for all those who popped by with good wishes yesterday for my 3,000th blip (which snuck up on me...) - most kind.

We had a very warm sunny morning, much of which was spent in the front garden. Becky and Daniel came to take Archie out for a walk. The three wee girls (and their dad) from upstairs spent the morning in the sunny bit of the back garden, having a picnic in a tent and waving in at me when I was  powering away *ahem* on my exercise bike.

In the afternoon we wandered across the Links to check out the ex-police box coffee (and oaty biscuits). And it was a very good flat white (double shot of course) and JR had a good long black. We sat on a bench in the park - I can’t get down to/get up from the grass with any degree of decorum. We’d had the best of the day in the morning, as it clouded over later.

I wanted to be home this afternoon to watch DC’s press conference to explain why ‘lockdown’ doesn’t apply to him. I bet the journalists enjoyed seeing him (relatively) subdued. Well, he said ‘With respect...’ a few times when disagreeing with a statement. I bet he doesn’t usually say that to anyone, least of all to reporters that he hates. (It’s mutual.)

My doctor rang this afternoon, having had a letter from a physio person I spoke to months ago. He wants me to be referred to a lower back specialist, but there’s a blood test they could/should do before that, and it involves lying down for half an hour while the nurse goes to have her lunch. Different...

On the way home, we came across this wee discarded scooter. Archie insisted he had a wee shot. (Not really, but he’s such a good sport.)
