In Fields where the yellow grass grows knee high
There are moments in every day that live in your mind.
Every second is crystal clear and you can replay it back.
Tonight was like that.
I shut down the office - and we piled the car high with plants, and headed to the allotment. We had promised tomato plants to a couple of people and we leaving them at their plots.
We let ourselves in - gloves and anticeptic wipes to hand, and walked in to our little escape.
The area is surrounded by trees - I have no idea how tall they are... 40 ft maybe. It makes it feel like a different climate. Everything has sprung to life after the torrential rain at the weekend.
There was a warm smell of life everywhere. All the lavender bushes were alive with bees. People's ponds were alive with surface skimmers, and tadpoles shaking their newly formed legs.
I stood at the water trough, and listened; rooks, blackbirds, and that infuriating woodpecker, clacking away. Bunnies dashing out of plots when they heard us coming.
The sun was warming my face, and neck and back, and it just felt amazing to be alive, and standing there.
Si was back and forward filling the water barrels. I watered our Corn, weeded the carrots and the onions and shallots, i wandered around and took snaps. And then I stopped at Sharon's pond. it's beautiful isn't it? Lilys, little pink flowers, loads of little shrubs surrounding it, that I don't even know what name.
As I snapped I realised I was capturing the water droplets as they fell to the ground. I was hypnotised.
Look at those little diamonds falling to the ground.
Today was a great day.
