1825

Since I can't do fancy things with numbers - at least graphically - the only connection I can make in today's blip is to observe that Sir George Clerk, 6th Baronet, would have been living in Penicuik Old House in 1825. It was he who, from 1857, had the two wings added to the original Palladian house. The rather fine windows in the wings [overlooking the lawn] used to be on the ends of the original house. The Clerks had taste in the 18th and 19th century, and are enlightened landowners today.

Once again, it was a beautiful morning and no-one else was available to walk Django, so I took him out, also mindful that the fine weather is due to break tomorrow. The image captures the main features of my outdoor life over the past couple of months: Penicuik Estate, the Pentland Hills [Scald Law (579m) to be precise] and Django. The only thing missing is the Ramsay Obelisk and a field of barley, so I've included them in the extra (albeit at a distance of 800m+) that looks down the lime walk from the House. On a monitor and with good eyesight, you can see Django hurtling after the tiny orange dot that is his ball.
