the yellow door

The forecast was for rain so I went out on my bike in the morning. Not a long ride, but I met several friends along the way and it was lovely to stop and chat. 

The hedgerows are looking beautiful just now, full of foxgloves, honeysuckle and wild roses. I cycled slowly, taking it all in. I noticed this yellow door for the first time, and the purple clematis which looks so well against it.

While I was cooking the tea this evening, we had a tremendous thunderstorm. Luke was out for a run at the time..The electricity went off and on, off and on. Luckily it stayed on as I had a banana cake in the oven.

Looking forward to seeing how high the river has risen when we go out for our walk later...
