living in a glass house

Party time!

It was Chickpea's birthday party today! It was a small party because we had to have it in our house, which is small. I wish we could have invited all of her little friends but we would have had to rent a hall- she's far too popular! ;)

Her party had a space theme and we started by making moons with puffy paint. Then we took a journey to the moon on our rocket (couch) and ate special space food (chocolate pudding in plastic sandwich bags). When we got to the moon the walkers in the group tried on moon boots and walked across the moon's surface, being very careful not to fall in any craters. After that, we all did some star spotting with torches in the dark. We ate special space snacks and Chickpea blew out the candles on her cake made of moon rocks. I hope everyone that came had a lovely time, I know C and A did!

Since Chickpea is not at the stage yet where she has to open every single present "now now right now" we were able to space the opening over the three days. Her special gift from us was a balance bike. She has been wanting a bike since she saw the Charlie and Lola bike episode and always goes over to the bikes when we see them in shops so I think she's pretty excited to finally have one! She also received some lovely clothes from her granny and some fun and thoughtful gifts from her friends. I have to mention these two because I thought they were such fabulous ideas and C loves them! From Zeph and Cas (and family) she got a set to make her own fairy garden, with a little fairy house, a toadstool, a fairy attracting light and beautiful flower candles. And Willow and Rowan (and family) gave her a special treasure box suitcase with lots of beautiful bits and pieces inside. She loves carrying it around going through everything in the box, and adding more to it.

Thank you to everyone that made Chickpea's day special!
