Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Mt. Baldy

Again I spent the better part of the day at the Ontario Convention Center at the TechEd Conference. The city of Ontario is at the foot of Mt. Baldy. I took this photo with Zou Clay in mind (she had asked me a few days back when I would again blip Mt. Baldy). The mountain looks enormous from the convention center.

I taught my morning class at the Norco campus then at 10:30ish headed for Ontario. I really wanted to hear Hall Davidson's 11:00 o'clock message about teaching with cellphones. I walked in just moments after he had started. The room was packed. Not an empty chair. So I walked back to the corridor and brought a chair inside. The velocity of his presentation and wealth of info were mind-boggling. I recorded him and plan to listen again. His webpage has some interesting handouts, if you are interested take a look. I also sat in on another workshop by the TechSmith folks so that I could learn more about Snagit, Jing, and Camtasia Studio -- (Jing is a free download). I saw several people from my campus while wandering through the exhibit hall and the chairperson of my dept said that there is money in the budget to purchase some software that I want. Woohoo!

The conference ends at noon tomorrow. I'll be there for a couple more workshops and then back here to do lots of paper grading before my Thursday classes.

It's been an exciting day. Good night from America's western edge.
