Day 99 - Sir Noel Coward(1899-1973) playwright, actor, composer, singer, director. He was born in Teddington, attended a dance academy as a child and made his stage debut at 11. He achieved enduring success as a playwright publishing more than 50 plays. Many such as Hay Fever, Private Lives, Present Laughter and Blythe Spirit are still performed. This is probably my nearest official blue plaque !
- Cycled with friend to Barnes Pond . We went via Pembroke Lodge gardens in Richmond Park which have lovely roses out at the moment. Nearly deserted as still no cars allowed in the park. Went to meet up with other cycling friends met on overseas charity challenges. Very hot 33C! 100’s of teenagers around Teddington Lock , many in the river, when we cycled back. A police presence. Let’s hope they were sensible and no accidents as many were in the water, the Thames.
- cleaned the glass on the balcony
- booked a short break Air B and B in Norfolk for September. A place we have stayed in before.
