Wild flower

The cottage garden is overgrown. It has been left unattended for 15 weeks and is like a wild flower meadow, it had a lawn, flower boarder and steps going up to it, the steps are completely covered. The cottage was not too bad, dusty, cobwebs and spiders in the sinks and bath. The drive up was not as bad as expected and we stopped at a service area to use the facilities and felt comfortable enough to get coffee to take back to the car. Spoke to a few neighbours and they were very welcoming. Long drive, unpacked, tidy cottage, made bread, walked the pup and made dinner, now feeling very sleepy.
Hetty was brilliant in the car, she has always been fine on country roads but not so on motorways, but today she seemed comfortable sitting on the backseat. She seemed pleased to be back and took up her favourite position on the window ledge.
A few days of jobs and it will be back to how it was. But for now I need to sleep.
