Kapouzi

Yesterday, as l collected things together, my builder rang and announced that he was on his way to remove a cupboard in the kitchen, we are getting an under counter freezer which will go in its place. He duely arrived, removed cupboard, fitted electrical point, removed all old silicon sealing from plinth and resealed and left. Such a good and thorough company, no mess, they always clean up after themselves.
I walked up to the Greek shop to buy some fruit and veg. It is water melon season and everywhere around here are stalls of water melon or "kapouzi". Beautiful to look at but very difficult to photograph as it is always wrapped in cling film (it is by the road) and gives a nasty sheen in the photographs.
M went out for a long bike ride and came back fuming - someone had tipped a packet of drawing pins all along the tow path and there were cyclists all over busy fixing punctures, one man had 4 in his tyres and his son had two. Doubtless someone was hiding in a bush watching and killing themselves with laughter. M only had one, he lent his poump to someone to pump up their tyre but a bit fell off into the canal, he had to buy a new pump!
