A Prey's Eye View
G, H and I were intending to go for a walk on the beach at West Runton, but as you can see in my Extra, despite being nearly two hours after high tide there was barely any beach to be seen and it was very choppy. So instead we walked the cliff path towards Beeston Bump and surrounding fields. We saw the kestrel in my photo, lots of wildflowers, and a meadow pipit (also in Extras). It was quite cold, I had a coat on and it's rained here all afternoon. My arthritic hip has hurt this afternoon, I suspect it's the damp we've had for the last week.
Day 114 / Day 106 of Lockdown / Day 4 of Step 3 (for my record only)
UK deaths up 155 to 44,391. Deaths in India pass 20,000. Melbourne goes back into lockdown. Brazilian President tests positive for Covid-19, a disease he previously referred to as a 'little flu'. The ONS says excess deaths have fallen below average levels for the last two weeks, they suspect CV brought forward the deaths of some older and vulnerable people. In their small population sampling, only 22% of people testing positive had symptoms on the day they were tested, and two thirds never developed symptoms.
PM says 'We discovered too many care homes didn't really follow the procedures in the way that they could have' - he should explain or apologise. 3 pubs have closed again after patrons tested positive for Covid-19. Taxpayer job subsidies exceed £35bn, with underwritten business loans of £45bn. In a survey about getting vaccinated for CV, 6% said they definitely wouldn't get vaccinated, 10% would probably not and 15% said they didn't know.
Tom Hanks has said 'At the very least, three tiny things are in everybody's wheelhouse if you choose to do them. Wear a mask, wash your hands, social distance. If you can't do that, I don't have much respect for you.' Well said Tom!
